School Selection and profile evaluation

by akanshya_6 » Thu Jan 08, 2015 5:18 am
Hi
My profile from 10th grade to semester V of under graduation are as follows:
10th Grade- 10 CGPA
12th Grade- 92%
Under graduation aggregate till V semester- 72.4% (Top 15 percentile)
I am pursuing Economics Honors from Lady Shri Ram College for Women under Delhi University. It is ranked as the top institute for arts in India.

I have zero full time work experience and I want to take the CFA after my masters as my aim is to have a job in the financial services sector. Kindly guide which course to take up for finance and in which schools. My priority is job because I shall prefer to work abroad after my masters abroad.
(The loan amount shall be huge, hence)
People are discouraging me for masters abroad as they saw that the job scenario is equally pathetic in us and Europe. However, I have already received a conditional offer for finance and economics in Warwick Business School.
I also checked up Olin Business School, Boston College, Johns Hopkins University, HEC Paris and Edhec Business School, France.
Kindly suggest!

Hi akanshya_6,

US Business schools for their Masters in Finance are very quant focused and the job opportunities are very good since a lot of courses also give credit towards the CFA degree. The above mentioned US schools are some of the best for their programs. EDHEC might not be that great though. HEC Paris also is a good option. Getting a job at the end of the day depends on your ability to network and perform in your course. Warwick Business School is very well known for its Finance program.Hope this information helps.
