Profile Evaluation - from Canada!

by andyjkim6 » Wed Nov 26, 2014 7:08 am
Hello,

I'm currently a 4th year student at University of Toronto with a specialization in business management (Bachelor of Business Administration). I'm planning to apply to a top 5 US Business program to do my MBA. I wanted to know how my profile stacks up to this point!

GMAT: Male
Age: 21
GPA: 3.76 currently, at graduation expected GPA is around 3.73
GMAT: To be taken

Work Experience:
- Currently working at top 2 Insurance company in Canada (Property & Casualty Insurance) May 2013-Present, as it allows for part time during school
- Upcoming Internship at a M&A Firm during my second semester (Jan-April 2015)
- Internship at a pharmaceutical company

Leadership / Extra-curricular involvement:
- Co-founder, co-president of a Management Consulting Association
- Director of Corporate Relations for an academic society
- Vice President, Director of Member Development for a Case competition club
- Management Advisory Group, liaison for students & business faculty on campus
- Public Relations Volunteer at a local hospital
- Men's Rugby Team

I'm currently trying my best to work at a top consulting firm for the next couple years before my application. With where I stand right now, what GMAT Score should I be aiming for?

Any feed back would be fantastic!

Hi andyjkim6,

Thanks for your post. You do have a strong candidacy. For your GMAT score, most top MBA programs like to see GMAT scores of at least 700. One of the things to keep in mind is that admissions teams will focus on your best score. If you don't do as well on your 1st exam attempt, there is no harm in taking the test for a second time.
