I felt a true sense of achievement and relief when the score appeared on the computer screen - 680 Q44 V39!!
I had given the GMAT last year a couple of times when my daughter was just a year old and I got a score of 610 on both occasions which I was obviously not happy about. I knew I was fighting a lot of odds to take an exam of this nature during a time when my professional and personal life were falling apart, but it also made me realise that it was vital for me to get out my shell and to stop feeling sorry for myself and do something about it.
This year I decided to reevaluate my approach and took a lot more practice tests which certainly reflected a better score. I also found that what one makes on the practice tests is more or less an accurate reflection of what one may score on the actual test day.
This experience has reinstated my belief that nothing is impossible if one puts his/her mind to it. I'm looking forward to applying to business schools and I hope my ambition and focus stay constant for the years to come!

Hello Shwetha
Congratulation on the score Doing well on tests like these in such life situations can be very difficult. When are you planning to to begin your MBA? Have you decided any schools yet?

Hi Divya,
Shwetha
- Find a good GMAT tutor/coaching centre near you.
Take atleast 7/8 practice tests (2 tests per week).
Do a detailed review of your practice tests.
Allocate 2 months of solid prep time.
Manhattan GMAT Series was especially useful for me (esp for CR and SC + Quant shortcuts)
Practice Verbal on the GMAT Pill

Also, let us know if you need any help with your applications. The people in this forum are very nice and I am sure you can get a lot of help if only you ask for it.
