Did you graduate from IIT Madras with a 68%? Was the 68% First Class? In either case, you graduated from an excellent undergraduate institution but your GMAT is below the average GMAT at ISB. You still have a good chance due to the IIT brand, but my suggestion is to retake the test and try to get above 700+ to maximize your chances.

Anamik,

Thanks. I am familiar with the NIT's (I have been doing this so long these schools were the REC's when I began in 2004). Did you go to NIT Trichy? In either case, I would suggest a GMAT retake but your application will still be competitive without a higher score.

For ISB you only need 2 years but for the IIM's you at least 5 years of experience and often more. So, I cannot suggest any IIM's. Are you looking for suggestions in the U.S.? Within the U.S., GMAT scores are weighted more for Indian applicants.

Best of luck,

Thanxx a ton :D

As you can see I have taken a non traditional work ex from IT engineering to Media Marketing.
Will this be any negative in ISB admission? And a last piece of advice I would like from you, Should I wait for another year for the ISB ( if I may have a better chance)?

Broad experience is not looked as a negative. Just try to show focused career goals and how most (if not all of your experience ties into this).

If you had a GMAT of 780, I would say apply this year. But considering that improving your GMAT score will also improve your chances you might wish to improve your GMAT score first before applying. Then you can use that time to also progress in your career and advance your goals.
