HI all,

I took the GMAT two days ago and scored a 710 (IR 7, Quant 49 : 75 percentile, Verbal 39: 82 percentile, total 92 percentile).

I'm planning to apply in September 2015, by July 2015 I'd be gaining two years of work ex ( technical operations, PepsiCo).

Would like to know if 710 is good enough?

TIA!

Hi Tia,

Congratulation on your GMAT score.
710 is a good score.
Admission depends on the universities you are targeting, Work Ex, extracurricular etc.
You might want to look at the following area and be the best judge.

Good Luck!!

Hi Tia,

710 is definitely a competitive score for top B-schools. Most of the B-schools look at your overall profile and judge you based on your work ex, extra-curricular activities, team work, leadership ability, diversity of profile, academics and GMAT score. You need to focus on building your profile and start working on your applications without delay. Please share more details about your profile to evaluate and suggest b-schools. Good enough for what? :)

Since you have low work experience, you for sure have the time to retake it, if you want. The question is: Can you score higher? And how much? I would be against taking it just to "see what might happen", but if you are pretty sure you can get at least 20-30 points more, it could be worth it.

Best,
JF

I agree with Jon - good enough for what is an important part of the question. If you're applying to a top 5 program, then no. If you're applying to some program in the top 20, then probably. Given your split, I think you a) should take it again and b) could do better substantially if you pull up your verbal!
