Hi Sumon3,

Have you done any studying so far (or have you taken the GMAT already?)?

If you're just starting out, then you should think about taking a FULL-LENGTH GMAT practice CAT, so you can get a true sense of your current strengths and weaknesses. You can download 2 for FREE from www.mba.com. Those 2 CATs also come with a set of free practice questions.

As far as books are concerned, the 13th Edition GMAT Official Guide (or the 2015 Official Guide) are great books of practice questions (they're the same book though, so you don't need them both).

Once you report back with your scores, we'll have a better sense of what additional materials you might need to study.

Hi Sumon3,

Can you provide some more info on your last score:
1) Was it a practice CAT or was it the Official GMAT?
2) What were your scaled scores for the Quant and Verbal sections?
3) If it was a practice CAT, then did you take take the ENTIRE CAT (including the Essay and IR sections)?

The Verbal section of the GMAT is just as standardized and predictable as the Quant section of the GMAT, so you can learn about the content and the easiest tactics to answer the questions correctly. To that end, I have a few more questions:

1) When are you planning to take the GMAT?
2) What is your overall score goal?
3) What schools are you planning to apply to?
