people who visit the city's arts museums- the author sites as basis the similarity in the percentage increase for both i.e. audience of TV visual arts programs and those who visit city's arts museums. The author could have presented more proof to substantiate his conclusion for example studying the other factors which might have caused an increase in the visitor's of city art museum, for example factors like the comparison of cost of earlier cost of tickets and the current ones what if there is a reduction of cost and which has induced more visitors.Or, What has been the rate of increase of tourists in the city has it increased normally the television audience will be the residents of the city (maybe the increase is merely because of the rose in city population!) and the museums might have an increased number of visitors because of an increase inflow of tourists.Or has the management of the museum taken any steps to attract more visitors? For example it has tied up with local schools or hosting certain events outside the premise of the museum to attract attention! The passage then says that if the corporate funding is reduced for public television the attendance at our city's art museums will also start decreasing- but then what if corporate funding is taken from public television and is channelised towards increasing the attendance of city's art museum? The author doesnt consider this possibility.
