GMAT Score 680 - Retake?

by qwerty12321 » Thu Jun 19, 2014 3:47 am
I took the GMAT today and got a score of 680 ( IR-8, Verbal -34, Quant-49 )
Do I need to retake the GMAT if I plan on applying to HBS, Yale, MIT, Stanford and ISB YLP?

You can expect a call fro ISB subjected to qualifying work contribution during your studies (I am assuming that you have no work experience as you are planning to apply for ISB YLP) however for other schools that you are targeting, you must try to get a score above 720.

All the best!!!

Your verbal score has great scope of improvement and if you have got 49 in quant without any expert help then certainly targeting 51 isn't much averse expectation.

Hi qwerty12321,

Thanks for your post. For the programs you are considering, I do recommend you take the GMAT again. One thing that is important to remember is that in your application, your highest GMAT score is self-reported. For this reason, admissions teams will focus on your best score, there is no harm in taking the exam again.
