Xbond,

'be native to' indicates a characteristics whereas 'native of' does not!
e.g.:
*- There is a unique business culture native to the U.S.

I would have choosen E straight away. Because I had seen examples at various places that whereever we are talking about animals like in this case native to is used..

to use native of.. Rob is a native of Spain.

Please correct if am wrong. Thanks!

Yep - so here is something I came across:

- He is a native of Australia
- A Kangaroo is native to Australia

In the first case, native of Australia- is a noun.
In the second case, native to Australia - the word native is an adjective.

Option E is perfect, since it matches the idiom, and singular.
~~~
I'll have the 800 score, please.
Native of is used when a person belongs to a place.
Eg. John is a native of England
Native to is used when the species originated from the place
Kangaroo is a native to Australia
Ostrich is a native to Africa
Neem tree is a native to India
P.S - My Explanation is quite late. :P I posted it for guys who may be reading it now
The Red-tailed Sportive Lemur ________ will take a singular Verb.
Hence we are left with answer choices (C) , (D) and (E)
Now we have to choose between native Of and Native to -
Native of - Used when talking about where a person was born
Native to - Whed when you're talking about a category, characteristic, or species.
Hence here Native to is preferred to Native of...
Option (C) and (D) can be rejected...
Hence IMO (E)...
Since this sentence talks about category so "Native to" will be used ; Between a and e , e is correct follows S-V agreement.
Hopes it help
