Hi - I am an experienced IT professional with strong managerial & social experience. I am working on my applications for Executive/Part-Time/Online MBAs and would really appreciate some feedback on my prospects. Below is an overview of my profile. The only area where I am struggling is GMAT - I recently had a family medical emergency during my prep time over last 3 months and now with a high-travelling job, I am unable to prep myself the way I would want to. My first GMATPrep score was a dismal 450. Nevertheless I am taking the test on 12th June with about 3-4 weeks of prep, which is clearly not sufficient.
My question - Given my profile, what are my chances of getting accepted for the Executive/PT/Online MBA programs at the below list of schools with a low GMAT score?
CHOICE I : MIT EMBA (submitted application, no GMAT required but avg work exp is 12-15 yrs)
CHOICE II: CHICAGO BOOTH EVENING AND KELLOGGS PART-TIME (yet to apply, GMAT required)
CHOICE III: KELLEY ONLINE MBA, UNC KENAN-FLAGLER ONLINE MBA (submitted application, GMAT required)
PS: Booth & Kelloggs both have an EMBA option without GMAT but I am not sure if I'll stand a chance given their CxO level expectations. Also they are way more expensive (~$170K).
Bio : 30yr Indian Female
Work Exp : 8 years of IT work experience
Academics : Bachelors of Comp Science from recognized univ. in India
GPA : 3.5
Leadership:
* Currently IT Director in a $800M-multinational, senior mgmt. responsibilities like direct reportees, P & L, financials, delivery, etc.
* Managing global teams across 3 countries, 15 direct reportees, span of control over 220 employees
* Fast track managerial career, high growth trajectory
* Consistently rated among top 2% extraordinary performers (among 24K employees)
Social Work:
* Extensive experience in setting up my company's non-profit wing
* Volunteered as an educational mentor for underprivileged children for 2 years
* 17+ trained classical dancer, runs own dance academy, lead fund-raiser productions
* Currently the Cultural Director for a non-profit org with diversity focus for last 4 years
Other Strengths: Strong recommendations, confident essays
Any feedback/suggestions on my profile and how much will a low GMAT impact my chances, will be highly appreciated! Thanks!
How vital is GMAT for EMBA/Part-Time/Online MBA?

Hi Sim84,
Thanks for your post. For your GMAT question, for the programs you are applying to we would recommend you take the GMAT again. One thing that is important to remember is that in your business school application, your highest GMAT score is self-reported. For this reason, admissions teams focus on your best score, and there isn't any harm in taking the test again.
