sqrt x

by Malolo355 » Tue Apr 22, 2014 7:36 am
"If (sqrt)x is an integer, what is the value of (sqrt)x?
(1)5<x<15
(2)1<x<4 "

From st.1 : (sqrt)25 <(sqrt)x < (sqrt)225 and since (sqrt)x is an integer the possible value can only be (sqrt)81=9 SUFFICIENT
St.2 says that (sqrt)1 <(sqrt)x <(sqrt)16 so the possible values are 2 and 3 . So it's insufficient.
Am I right?

Are you sure that Statement 2 is correct?

I'm sorry. You're right.
I've missed a (sqrt).
St. 2 is " 1 <(sqrt)x < 4 "
