What is the value of (a! + b!) (c! + d!)?
(1) b!d! = 4(a!d!).
(2) 60(b!c!) = b!d!.
(1) b!d! = 4(a!d!)
b! = 4(a!)
b!/a! = 4
4! / 3! = 4
So, b =4 and a = 3
We do not the value of c and d. Therefore not sufficient.
(2)60(b!c!) = b!d!
60(c!) = d!
d!/c!= 60
d = 60 and c = 59
We do not the value of a and b. Therefore not sufficient.
(c) combine (1) and (2)
We have all four values. It is sufficient.
Answer C
(1) b!d! = 4(a!d!).
(2) 60(b!c!) = b!d!.
(1) b!d! = 4(a!d!)
b! = 4(a!)
b!/a! = 4
4! / 3! = 4

(2)60(b!c!) = b!d!
60(c!) = d!
d!/c!= 60
d = 60 and c = 59
We do not the value of a and b. Therefore not sufficient.

In statement (2), 60 (c!) = (d!) can also be interpreted as (5)(4)(3)(c!) = (d!), which may mean that c = 2 and d = 5.sparkles3144 wrote:What is the value of (a! + b!) (c! + d!)?
