I agree with sudhir, but would just add a couple more brackets to make it clear how the powers are working in the numerator:
2^[(4-1)^2] / 2^(3-2)
2^(3^2) / 2^(3-2)
2^9 / 2^1
2^8
2^[(4-1)^2] / 2^(3-2)
2^(3^2) / 2^(3-2)
2^9 / 2^1
2^8
