Hi, I am a new member of this amazing web site. Like other students, I do want to get MBA and as usual as other applicants I started my preparation for GMAT test. My first score was 400 in GMAT Prep-Q34 and V14. I have planned to take the test after 3 months. What is my level of chance to increase my score to apply for a middle ranked MBA programm? Could you please give me advice on this?
Thanks beforehand!
with best regards,
Sarvar

Hello, Sarvar! It is good that you have allowed yourself plenty of time to prepare for the exam. It is difficult to predict how much you will be ableo to raise your GMAT score, but with three months, you should be able do enough practicing to be able to perform your best when you take the exam. Our research department at GMAC did a survey of test-takers to find out how long they spent studying, and correlated their GMAT scores. You may want to take a look: https://officialgmat.mba.com/2012/04/19/ ... mat-score/
Some other advice for you to keep in mind is take plenty of practice exams to ensure you are comfortable with the format, timing and pace of the exam, in addition to studying the skillsets measured. Have you tried GMATPrep for practice exams?

Dear friends,
thanks for the 1st advice. Yes, I tried GMATPrep for practice exams. So is it a good idea to study more books on gmat, as you know there have been published many more books. Which books are effective for practice considering that i have only 3 month for the preparation?
Thanks beforehand!

Hello again, Black Star!
While I cannot comment on GMAT prep products other than the Official Guides, I am happy to offer you some suggestions. If you have already downloaded GMATPrep and the supplemental Question Pack, you may want to look at some of our other products. If you simply want more practice taking the exam, you can try the GMAT Paper Tests, which are a set of three real, retired GMAT exams. You can purchase those here: https://www.mba.com/store/product-info.aspx?ProductID=5. If you are looking for additional practice in the Verbal section, you can try the Official Guide for GMAT Verbal Review. If you need extra practice in Quant, I suggest the Official Guide for GMAT Quantitative Review, and GMATFocus, our online quant diagnostic software. All these products can be purchased at mba.com/store. Please note that GMATFocus is currently unavailable due to a power outage in the GMAC headquarters. We are working to restore power as quickly as possible. Good luck in your studies!
