I scored 470 during my first attempt. This was due to my ill health during the exam. i could have cancelled my score but i thought the other way and got a low score. In the second attempt i scored 610. I have no excuses for this score.Smile i am thinking of applying for INSEAD

I am thinking of two options
- Applying to INSEAD , since it has accepted students from 600 - 800 range and GMAT is not the only criteria. i have 5 years work experience as a project lead. i can work on ensuring that i get good recommendation letter and concentrate on writing good essays . but my GMAT score is bothering me.
- Another option is give the GMAT again. But if my score is not above 700 , then third attempt might not be fruitful.
Am i right? might not be..
I am really confused. I need some guidance. Please advise

Hello ANaik,

Thanks for your post. I understand your confusion! The world of MBA admissions is a confusing (and often frustrating) place!

Without knowing your full profile, if INSEAD is your target school, then you should consider re-taking the GMAT.

As you said, the GMAT is not the only criteria AdCom will look at. But it is important factor and since your highest score (610) is toward the bottom of their range, you will have to make up significant points in other areas of your application (GPA, Work Exp, Essays, LOR).

Also, have you considered other schools? If you decide you do not want to retake the GMAT, there could be some other programs with lower GMAT standards that could fit your program interests.

Good luck!

NP
