|
|
I have a dilemma - I'm not sure which CATs to use for practice.
I only have a limited amount of time, so I want to be effienct and smart with my CAT practice time.
I took GMAT Prep this weekend and I think that's the best but I want to save the second CAT for a few days before my test day.
These are my thoughts:
Kaplan - too difficult, not a very good reflection of where you're at
PR - maybe TOO easy (i.e. not difficult enough to get my ready for "beating the gmat")
MGMAT - not sure (??), i heard good things about this... a bit tough.. but also quite DIFFERENT from the actual gmat
PowerPrep - good stuff, right? where do i download????
Please help and give me any advice you can!! I appreciate it
EDIT: I'M LOOKING FOR POWERPREP - BUT CAN'T FIND IT ANYWHERE. ANYONE KNOW WHERE I CAN DOWNLOAD THIS SOFTWARE? i would like to do the practice test today, thanks[/b]

| You can take each GMATPrep twice without seeing the same questions since the data base of questions is very broad. |

Kaplan cat - just ignore.
PR is a good cat, definitely worth doing because the difficulty progression is a little less intense than MGMAT; in other words, if you are doing well MGMAT will make you sweat starting at around question 10 or so while PR does the same at about question 15.
PowerPrep is good too, but the interface is really terrible (this affected my cat scores because I found it difficult to read on my 24" monitor). Also has repeats from the GMAT paper exams and OG11. Skip this if you are really pressed on time.
MGMAT is a great cat in spite of some very bad questions. I'd do these after PR and before the last GMATPrep.
Progression: PR -> MGMAT -> GMATPrep #2
Good luck! _________________ http://www.beatthegmat.com/my-blog-errors-and-lessons-learned-t4899.html

wow thanks! this is exactly the kind of answer i was looking for - very very helpful
i think i'll take your advice and use PR CAT, then a couple MGMAT CATs, and finish off my practice with the second GMAT Prep.
again, i appreciate your help!
if anyone else has anything they could share, please do..... |

| What about PowerPrep? Are they good or completely out of date? |
