I'm a Cal '06 grad starting the GMAT/MBA process...I presently work in consulting and plan/hope to go to a top 25 MBA program. I previously worked in the NFL (internship) and hope to work for a sports league (NFL, Pac-10) or team. Does anyone have any insight into MBA programs with a Sports Management/Marketing path? Indiana seems to be the highest rated school with a Sports Mngmt path, are there any other quality schools that offer this type of degree/education? Thanks in advance.

I think Columbia is supposed to have a good program...

thanks for the comments - I knew about Oregon and SDSU, but not about Az St. - I'll investigate that further. Columbia's is NOT a joint degree, fyi - it's a ms in sports management

I don't think any of the top 25 MBA programs have good Sports Management programs. If you think about it professional sports is a very new field/industry. My advice go to a Top 25 MBA and work with your career services on finding an internship/placement in professional sports industry. When you are on campus, approach coaches or athletic directors and apply for a job to work with them over the course of your education. Smile
