GMAT 650 - which colleges can i apply?

by shreeman » Tue Dec 07, 2010 1:57 am
Hi All,

Today i gave GMAT and got 650 - 79 percentile [quant - 49 (86 percentile) and verbal - 30 (55 percentile)]. currently working as s/w engineer. Few details of my profile:-

10th class - 84 % marks (CBSE)
12 th class - 61 % marks (tougher state board)
BE - computer sciene, manipal (CGPA - 3.2 out of 4)

Total work exp - 4.5 years.

July 2006 to may 2008 - Fidelity investment banaglore
june 2008 to till date - Thomson reuters Bangalore.

I am willing to do full time MBA. Don't want to go to US and Canada as expenses will be very high ( i have heard that it costs around 50 lacs for whole course) so targetting colleges in India, singapore and UK. Please suggest which colleges should i apply?? Please also let me know if there is any other college in any other part of the world but it should be a good college.

My $0.02!

Your profile seems good to Non-US schools with few exceptions. ISB may ask for more than 700 but its worth giving a shot given your background.

In S'pore, your profile just fits for NUS MBA or SP Jain Institute.

But in my opinion, you should also go for US schools although they're expensive. Maybe through an education loan. It is a great investment if you try for top b-schools in US and it pays great dividends later when you'll easily repay your debts.

i think you should target uk as you have 3 yrs + experience and the quality of teaching is better in uk than in india or u can try for melbourne business school or other good universities in aus/singapore..

Hi shreeman

I think 650 is a decent score and dont let anyone tell u otherwise....

lots of people get into good univs with 600+ scores so u need not worry about ur score.... for proof, there is another thread here about a person entering Columbia with 660 :)

So i think u should just go ahead and apply

cheers
