A East that were arising simultaneously -- verb tense problem past progressive tense used (not required, the action is already over in the past) instead of normal past
B yields is singular whereas first trenches is plural
C having been (passive) is used to introduce instead of a relative pronoun That.
D again yields is singular whereas first trenches is plural
E Correct, have yielded is in present perfect tense & arose is simple past tense compatible
