THANK YOU BTG! Booth, Kellogg, DePaul

by gmatgirl12 » Fri Jun 25, 2010 6:39 am
Thank you to the BTG community for such a supportive network. I found the BTG GMAT forums to be so helpful during my GMAT studies. My first attempt resulted in a score of 550 and second attempt was better with a 690. AWA 6 for both times. I forgot the break down for each exam, but I was pretty even with both quant and verbal. All of my questions ranging from study materials to specific math questions were answered promptly and thoroughly on this forum. I also received encouraging advice regarding my applications.

I am happy to report that I was admitted to the part time programs at Booth, Kellogg, and DePaul University for Fall 2010.

GMAT: 690
WE: 4 yrs
GPA: 3.5 Biochemistry from an established University
ECs: few notable ones

I only applied to the part time programs in Chicago and was fortunate enough to be accepted at all three of the schools I applied to.

Thanks again BTG - you are such a great resource for aspiring MBAs!

I'm still torn between Booth and Kellogg. I'm leaning towards Kellogg because I feel that it's a better fit for me, but I haven't fully committed to either school yet. Will let you know once the decision has been made!

Cheers!

is there any way you can get out there and visit both again before making your decision?
My goal is to make MBA applicants take onus over their process.

I actually live in Chicago and work near both campuses. They are both such great schools that I'm having a hard time choosing one over the other.

when must you decide by? You're in a great position though haha.. deciding between two phenomenal schools! My manager actually was like a biomedical engineer or a chemist or something prior to b-school and ended up going to Kellogg for her MBA.. I can ask her if you can shoot her an email if you'd like to ask her some questions...

Late last week, I accepted Kellogg's admission offer. I was very fortunate to have such great choices to choose between. It was a difficult decision to make because I highly valued Booth's intellectual community along with their welcoming admissions committee. In the end, I felt that I was more suited for Kellogg and that Kellogg would provide the experiences and opportunities that I was looking for in a b-school. I am extremely excited to be starting at Kellogg this fall quarter.

Best of luck in your GMAT adventure and application journey!

Gmatgirl 12:

What a small world. I will be attending Kellogg in the upcoming Fall 2010. I'm a chemist, so I'm sure we'd have a lot in common. Email me if you're interested in meeting up at the upcoming orientation events.
