It would be a good idea to check out this post as well: it's a summary of my blog and lists/reviews the books I used during my prep.

Best of luck!

The GMAT Review 11th Edition A.K.A. The Official Guide is essential for anyone studying for the GMAT. This contains 800 questions from GMAT tests and is the only place you can find really realistic GMAT practice questions.

If you have worked through the majority of the questions in this book then the GMAT test is unlikely to surprise you in any way and many of the questions in the actual test will feel like you have taken them before.

This is available from
http://www.mba.com/mba/TaketheGMAT/ToolsToHelpYouPrepare/GMATPrepProducts/OfficialGuideforGMATReview11thEditionNEW.htm

However the official guide is not very good at telling you the tips and tricks that you can use to squeeze every last point out of the test.

So you want to buy another book which will cover GMAT techniques. I would recommend The Princeton Review's "Cracking the GMAT" which is the best amongst the many available.

You can get it from
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0375764771

Of course you can also learn these techniques online with prepfortests.com where we offer free tutorials, tips and practice questions.

Best of luck!

Joel
