All said I am very happy with my score. Could I have scored higher on the Quant, sure. I have never considered myself a good standardized test taker and timing has always been an issue with me, hence I am happy with this score. I took the GMAT a little over a month ago and came in with a 650 and hence decided to take it again. I guess the message here is, if you practice enough, the odds are you can make the 700 club. I think my first princeton review CAT came in at the high 500s.

Guys,

Thanks for your wishes. Mayonnai5e - I just wanted to say that your posting helped me greatly. I too struggled with timing on the Quant section and hence the 77th percentile which I was not particularly happy with. I followed a similar strategy to yours keeping the timing benchmarks in mind and not spending too much time on any one question.

Just out of curiosity I wonder if a 77th percentile in Quant will keep will hurt my apps for any of the top programs? I have a fair amount of quantiative experience.

Thanks

I don't think so. Most universities when posed this question have replied that they look at the total score and generally don't even consider the percentiles that may vary from year to year.

Well, I am sure I got a little lucky. Smile All the best with your apps. The score is but just one factor. With a good score you have only one thing less to worry about.

I feel as if I am in your exact shoes....I also took it a few months back and ran into severe problems with timing in the quant section. I'm taking it again in two weeks after taking a course, so hopefully, I'll follow in your footsteps. Any thoughts on the second take? Easier? Less pressure?
