hi stacy:
i'm not applying to b-school for a while, but when i do i may hire an admissions consultant (perhaps you) to assist me through the application process.
i want to know when is the right time to start working with an admissions consultant? if i were to apply in the first round and submit my applications in Oct/Nov, when should i start working with my consultant? how many months in advance would you recommend?
thanks for your help (AS ALWAYS!!) and have a great weekend.
when should i hire an admissions consultant?

I have been thinking of this question too
800guy 8)
Adding to your query,
Ma'am,
I also want to subscribe to the popular MBA inside by BusinessWeek online magazine.
I am planning to get the yearly subscription,
My question is when it is best time to subscribe
and
when its best time to approach Admission consultants.
I am planning to apply lil later not for couple of years.... may be on fall 2009.
Thankyou.

We generally start signing up clients in January of the year that they apply. For the first few months of the year we work on candidacy, making sure that the profile is a strong as possible. Once applications are published, we start the tactical work on the applications. If you wanted to skip over the candidacy portion, you would ideally start in early summer. That said, many people sign up later on in the season, but since we have a fixed price I always think it makes the most sense to sign up early and get the most out of the service.

There is a huge range in fees. Also, some firms charge by the hour, while other charge for a service. You really have to look at what they are offering vs. your needs when you look at prices.
