PS OG-11 done

by vikram4689 » Sat Feb 27, 2010 9:50 am
hi guys i just did PS from OG-11. following are the results achieved:-

questions attempted= 200
Correct = 184
Incorrect =16 ......i did so many silly mistakes
Time taken = around 48 second per question

Tell me how is the performance and how i can i do better. Also, are the questions in GMAT are similar to the ones in OG or they are more difficult.

Assuming that the questions you got wrong were towards the end of the OG (those are the more difficult questions), your performance is good. However, there is no reward for finishing early, and you have up to an average of about two minutes per question on the GMAT, so I would actually tell you to slow down so that you don't make as many mistakes.

As for the questions in the OG, they are indeed representative of what you'll see on the actual test. However, you should note that if you're doing well, you're only going to see the hard questions, so much of the material from the first half of the OG will be easier (sometimes much easier) than what you'll encounter.

Hope this helps!

Unfortunately, time does not carry over between sections. You'll have 75 minutes for each section.

okay... just for confirmation:

section 1: PS and DS : 37 Q and 75 mintues
secton 2 : RC,CR,SC : 41 Q and 75 minutes

both these sections are taken separately so suppose i do PS & DS in 60min then i will be sitting idle for 15 min.

1.so after PS & DS section there will be a break (how much time) ?
2.which section is given first : section1 or section 2 ?
3.when is AWA taken by the candidate ?

AWA is given first. You get a half hour for each essay. After they are both done (not each, but the two combined) you get a five minute break.
Math is given second and Verbal is given last with a seven minute break between them.

Once you complete the last question in the section the break begins. You won't be sitting idle, you'll just end up finishing early.
