Factors improving MBA program reputation

by holla » Wed Nov 18, 2009 3:02 pm
I have a question I am about to graduate with my MBA from Texas Tech University a good program for a great price. However, Texas Tech is looking at becoming a Tier One Research University in the next five years and I think this would have a very positive effect on the MBA program because Texas Tech will then be at the same status as other research universities in Texas with great business schools (UT-Austin, Texas A & M, and Rice). They are also constructing a state of the art building for the business school which will enhance the programs reputation as well.

Just curious if things like that could help an MBA program improve its reputation and in the long run jump up in the rankings of the best business schools?

It's hard to speculate, but I would imagine that these kinds of changes would only help Texas Tech's reputation as a university as well as its MBA program. If Texas Tech can execute its plans successfully, then I think it's quite possible you will benefit over time as one of its graduates.

Congrats on picking a good program! :) By the way, would you be interested in serving as a student rep for your MBA program? If so, I'd love to see you start an 'Ask a Texas Tech Student' thread in the MBA Student Life forum of this site.

All the best,

Eric
