I scored a 690 (90th percentile) with 46Q and 38V. I consider this a decent score and wil not retake gmat again. In my mind, if I get a 730+, that would make a difference. But with ten years of experience under my belt, I am not desperate to beef up my gmat score.

What were your study habits? I plan on studying for about 2-3 months with OG 11, Kaplan, etc. I would be thrilled to get a 690. Any study tips would be greatly appreciated.

I studied for around 2 months. I went through OG, Kaplan 800 and Kaplan comprehensive 2007 edition.
I was studying more on weekends and sometimes in the evenings around 2 to 3 hours. More than, the quantity, I guess the quality is important. I had lost touch as I hadn't seriosly prepared for a test for a while and so it was harder. One month of serious prep shud be enough...like 6 hours a day and 8 hrs on weekends. I wasn't able to study more than 6 hrs (on weekends) in a single day anyway as I had other things to take care as well.
My gmat diag score was 600.
After 1.5 months I scored a 710 on gmatprep1 (but, many questions I had seen before).
Retired tests..I did around 5 of them and used to score 670 to 680 consistently.
Kaplan FT gave me a 600.
gmatprep2 I scored a 660 as I was frustrated and couldn't focus on the test. I reinstalled gmatprep and did a test the day before the test and scored a 680. I was prepared to retake the exam for a 700+ score.
But after 690, I realized that it may not be worth the hassle. |

Thanks for posting. Could you go into some more detail about how you studied the OG and Kaplan problems? I am going through each problem, the explanations and making flash cards. I think going through the problems in the book once and then going through my flashcards several times will be helpful. Can you elaborate some more? My study time is limited as well.

I wasn't into flash cards even though I downloaded and took prints of math flash cards from some website.

after doing many problems, you will get the way to solve them after seeing them as well as understanding the common traps...that was the way with me.
