Is it [E]?

Bottomline, x + y = 1 (x and y are both fractions)

Statement(1), if y > 0.15, then x < 0.85 must be true, but that doesn't necessarily mean that x < 0.8 will be true. NS

Statement(2), NS

Together, NS.

What is OA?

if x+y=1
and c=6.5x+8.5y

and c>=7.3 (Stantement 2)

substitute c for 7.3

7.3=6.5x+8.5y
x=1-y

7.3 =6.5-6.5y+8.5y
2y=7.3-6.5
2y=0.8
y=0.4
so x=0.6

if c>7.3, y increases lowering x, try c=8
(...)
2y=8-6.5
2y=1.5
y=0.75
x=0.25

so x is always less than 0.8
B is the answer
