Thank you for all your help. Can't really improve on what is already out there in the forum about studying. But I kept a good record of my practice test scores so I can at least share how my practice compares to the real thing.
FIRST OFF Kaplan is way harder than the real thing. (I feel drained after every kaplan test. but not really for the real thing)
___________Kaplan (Q/V)_____GMATPREP
April________600 (50/29)_______730 (50/39)
____________620 (50/31)
May________640 (50/33)______750 (50/42)
Exam_______760 (50/44)
I broke up all my data by subsections and for GMAT prep average scores compared to Kaplan was huge for verbal.
For GMAT Prep I was about 90% for CR and RC
For Kaplan I was only about 55-60%
For GMAT Prep SC was about 60%
For Kaplan I was about 40%
So Kaplan is only used if you want to trick yourself to work harder.
EDIT: For people who try to figure their percentile when they practice and how they compare to the real thing.
Q 50 = 95th Percentile
V 44 = 97th Percentile
760 = 99th Percentile
At least for this exam. |

Did you use the Kaplan retail/bookstore book or did you take the course at a center. Curious as the tests on the CD I hear are harder than the ones in the course.
Congrats on your great score! |
