What is the least number of digits (including repetitions) needed to express 10100 in decimal notation?
(A) 4
(B) 100
(C) 101
(D) 1,000
(E) 1,001

Hi,
I am having difficulty in understanding this question - can anyone help?
I want to correct it first, as I am sure that the question is not talking about binary numbers here. It should actually read

What is the least number of digits (including repetitions) needed to express 10^100 in decimal notation?
(A) 4
(B) 100
(C) 101
(D) 1,000
(E) 1,001

Now see, 10^1 is 2-digit, 10^2 is 3-digit, 10^3 is 4-digit, and hence 10^100 must be a [spoiler]101-digit number.

i think in btg one more achievement should be given " question corrector and answerer"
