Post Sun Feb 05, 2017 8:41 am
Hi,
First of all thank you for taking out the time to look at my profile. Just a little bit about myself, so you can get a better idea of where I am coming from:

- Undergrad BITS Pilani, India , Mechanical Engineering
-2 Years Work in Department of Atomic Energy as a Nuclear Scientist
- Grad School National Institute of Industrial Engineering , Industrial Management
- Work 3 yrs as a Supply Chain/ Operations consultant in a subsidiary of Indian Tobacco Company (ITC)
- GMAT 1st Try 690. Planning to give again in March.
-Involved in teaching young children with cancer so that they don't lose out on valuable time.
-Got diagnosed with cancer last year just before the application time, out of danger sinceDecember 2016.
-Age 30 Years , Would be applying for Ja 2018 admits or later

Schools I want to attend: Insead, Fuqua , IE , SDA Bocconi, Nanyang

Hey there good sir!
Good to hear from you and I am very happy to hear you are doing well.

Being a cancer survivor should in no way change your application, except maybe you can tell the story of surviving cancer if it is relevant to the application.

Other than that I can say that the main thing at this point still remains the GMAT. The better you can do in that, the better schools you will be able to apply to. For some info on that have a look at this article: http://admissionado.com/mba/to-retake-or-not-to-retake-that-is-the-question-indian-applicants-and-the-gmat/?utm_source=btg&utm_medium=forum&utm_campaign=mba_blog

Best,
Jon
