There's something fishy going on with this site's PageRank. A few months ago, beatthegmat.com had a PageRank of 4, and now suddenly we're showing a PageRank of 0.

We must be getting some sort of penalty from Google, but I have not been engaging in anything remotely illegal or unethical in the development of this site.

Anyone have thoughts as to what might be going on? Thanks!

I had to Google Laughing this up since I had read it a while ago when I was working on SEO for my own work but in short

Dont worry abt PageRank it's not really reliable

Quote:
The Google Toolbar's PageRank feature displays a visited page's PageRank as a whole number between 0 and 10. The most popular websites have a PageRank of 10. The least have a PageRank of 0. Google has not disclosed the precise method for determining a Toolbar PageRank value. Google representatives, such as engineer Matt Cutts, have publicly indicated that the Toolbar PageRank is republished about once every three months, indicating that the Toolbar PageRank values are generally unreliable measurements of actual PageRank value for most periods of year

I ran this website on a non-toolbar tool, and it's indicating that the PageRank is -1--apparently, all the backlinks for this website are gone, which doesn't make any sense. I'll keep investigating...
