    The sentence begins with the modifier, "Written early in the French Revolution." What was written? Mary Wollstonecraft's A Vindication... So D and E are out. "Attribute x to be the result of y" is redundant. We can write "x is the result of y," or "attribute x to y," but there's no reason to use both phrases. So A and B are out. The answer is C.
