Let us look at each of the answer options -
A - correct answer. It clearly indicates what produced an explosive expansion commerce and when it was produced.
B - Shogunate's prolonged peace is inferior to Peace during the Shogunate.
Option B also changes the intended meaning.
It says this -
"Despite Tokugawa shogunate's prolonged peace, it produced an almost explosive expansion commerce". - Clearly Illogical.
C - Modifier error. "the prolonged peace" was not isolated from world trade.
Also, GMAT does not like the usage of being as a modifier.
D - "at the time during" is redundant.
It also does not answer the question - When did prolonged peace produce an almost explosive expansion commerce?
E - Modifier error. "the prolonged peace" was not isolated from world trade.
