OG-12 Quant Problems

by nasir » Tue Sep 07, 2010 10:06 pm
Hi Friends

As we all have the same study pattern, so i decided to start this tread for OG-12 Quant Section where we all can discuss solutions to the problems. as its happening to me that sopmetime OG-12's explanation is not satisfactory or not in detail or with difficult concepts, so it would not only help to make bank of OG-12 question but would also help clearing the minute concepts that we sometime try to cram.

OG 12- DS#18 ( section Geometry )

What is the maximum number of rectangular blocks, each with dimension 12 cm, by 6 cm by 4 cm, that will fit inside rectangular box X.
1- When box X is filled with the blocks and rests on a certain side, there are 25 blocks in the bottom layer.
2- the inside dimensions of box X are 60cm, by 30cm by 20cm.

Any simple explanation for that .
Thanks

Nasir,

It seems to me to make sense to find the answers by searching the quant forums. I found a pretty solid explanation to this question and many others by simply typing in the first 6-8 words of each problem I was struggling with. Many times you will find that numerous people have posted with the same questions so you can review 3 different posts to help it soak in.

Here's a link to the problem you asked about: https://www.beatthegmat.com/og-12-q-18-s ... 51848.html
