Dear witwiyl,
There are some good MBA programs out there with GMAT averages between 580-630. You might not find them in all of the usual rankings, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything. I would suggest identifying a city that makes sense for your career search and then researching schools in the area. For example, Chicago has many solid programs that are overshadowed by Univ. of Chicago and Kellogg. They provide a good education, good student experience, and are not as selective/competitive for admissions.
