Hi and thanks for your post. While I don't know about UN jobs, I can respond to your other questions. Please see below:

1) What roles are offered in General Management Roles.

General management is a course of study offered at many top bschools. However, graduates with general management degrees pursue many different paths from consulting to marketing to sales.

2) What kind of salary are offered for these roles vis-a-vis management consulting and marketing jobs.

Salary is completely dependent on the role. You can look up this information by looking at the career services websites for the schools on your list. Most MBA's from top programs earn an average starting salary of around $100k (US), but this does vary by school, company, role, and even geography.

3) How is the Career progression/growth ?

Many companies are merit based so this is difficult to speculate.

4) Work life balance as compared to management consulting and marketing jobs

Consulting jobs are known for their travel and aren't the best roles for someone looking to achieve perfect work/life balance. I can't speculate for marketing positions since this is much more broad and would vary by role.

5) Exit options

This really depends on when you exit.

In regard to UN jobs, I don't know a lot about this area of employment. I suggest doing some networking and additional online research.

Best,

Stacey
