Can anyone tell me the difference between the MGMAT 2005 and 2007 editions (besides the RC and CR)???

Thanks!

RC and CR are obviously very different. All of the others were updated as well but to a lesser degree. Both give access to the online question banks. Only the 2007 editions also give access to the CAT exams.

Access to the online materials are for one user only - so once someone uses the login to create an online account, the login for that book can't be used again by someone else. If you're thinking about buying used books, there's a good chance you won't get access to the online materials b/c whoever had it first will probably already have activated the login - just FYI.

Stacey,

Thanks for your reply. That's why I was hesitant in buying used books. What about sites such as amazon or buy.com (new, 2007)? Will I still have online access?

Yes, if you buy new, you will have access to the online stuff! And you will have access to the CAT exams as long as you buy the 2007 edition.

Hi, I am trying to find out where is the best place to find the Manhattan GMAT books in London? Amazon.co.uk doe not have the latest edition for the 12 ed OG. Any ideas please? Also, where in London can I buy the Manhattan eraseable noteboard and stopwatch?

Thanks for your help GMATers!

This is what the office had to say:

"Sadly, we don't have an official distributor in England. However, all of our products are available for international shipping on our website."

Because we do sell OG12 on our website, I'm assuming that means OG12 is also available for international shipping. (Of course, that's going to cost more and take longer than getting it locally. :()

Kaplan 800 does not contain terribly difficult problems. Tough problems can be found in the challenge archive of Manhattan GMAT.

Sorry for bumping an old thread, but I had a relevant post.

I just got my 8-pack of MGMAT books today, and have just finished chapter 1 of the first guide, and am so far, very pleased. I've got the OG verbal 2nd edition, OG quantitative 2nd edition, and the OG review(latest edition) on it's way.

I plan on reading/studying 1 chapter per day for the next 5 months(my GMAT test is on Nov. 24th), reviewing flashcards, and taking practice tests. I also will work on my essay writing skills for the AWA :D

My question is; will the OG books just re-hash the material that I've already learned, or should I simply focus on the problem sets included in the book? Might it be redundant and a waste of time to read the OG books page to page, once I finish the MGMAT 8 guide set?

Thanks in advance!

The vast majority of the OG books contain problems and solutions for those problems. (Obviously, the problems themselves should be done and studied to the best of your ability!)

There is some quantitative material in OG12 (facts and formulas), but that material is all covered (in greater detail, actually) in the strategy guides.

There is also a chapter on the essays in OG12; you may or may not want to read through the material carefully, depending upon what kind of help you think you need for the essays.
