With a background in academia and ministry, I bring a somewhat different take to the GMAT than most instructors. What I love about standardized tests and teaching both is the intellectual challenge, constantly looking for superior techniques to solve problems or raise student’s scores. The test, although important, is a kind of mental game, an exercise in logic, cleverness, speed, and attention to detail. There is a sort of mystical quality found in transforming a question that seems impossible or unintelligible into one that is perfectly clear. I love seeing that moment of discovery in students and am constantly looking for new ways to facilitate it.
