Knewton CEO Jose Ferreira has repeatedly earned perfect scores over the past two decades on the GMAT and every other major standardized test.
Jose founded Knewton to help test-takers optimize their scores by combining emergent web technologies with his in-depth knowledge of how the GMAT was actually designed. Prior to founding Knewton, Jose served as an executive at Kaplan, where he led a company-wide re-engineering effort that designed its courses. He became known as “The Antichrist” inside Educational Testing Service (ETS) for his code-breaking methods. Jose is the only person ever to have developed pattern recognition strategies so effective that a major test-maker was forced to remove an entire question type.
Beyond test prep, Jose has also been a derivatives trader at Goldman Sachs and a Partner at New Atlantic Ventures (formerly Draper Atlantic), investing in new media and SaaS companies.
Jose graduated from Carleton College with a B.A. in Philosophy, and received his MBA from Harvard Business School.
