Since joining Veritas Prep in 2008, Bill has been fortunate enough to teach in 4 countries, 10 states, and 12 cities; the constant traveling has caused friends to describe him as “George Clooney in Up in the Air, except, you know, less dreamy.” He is a firm believer in finding conceptual ways to solve problems rather than doing all of the “necessary” work (his students often hear the mantra “the less math I do, the better I am at math”), an approach which has seen him score in the 99th percentile on the GMAT and LSAT.
Bill studied finance and economics at the finest Big Ten institution before going into construction management in his hometown of Omaha, NE. When he’s not teaching for Veritas Prep or writing articles and posts for Beat The GMAT, he can be found playing or watching soccer, reading about evolutionary biology or astronomy, or working on his screenplay about dinosaurs in space (think “Jurassic Park” meets “Avatar”; how can it not make a billion dollars? Space raptors!). Bill is also an expert in pop culture references, often working them into his teaching. When he wins the lottery, he plans on returning to college for degrees in astrophysics and neuroscience in order to fulfill his lifelong ambition: becoming the world’s first brain surgeon/rocket scientist.
