Reared in the (tofu and bare feet)-happy cafes of Takoma Park, MD -- which you'd be ill-advised to suggest to her is anything short of the Greatest Place on Earth -- Ashley migrated west for college, east (across the Atlantic) for language immersion, south for grad school, and finally north just for fun. Having volunteered as an elementary-school math tutor during high school and a middle-school math tutor during college, she somewhat surprisingly found herself graduating with a degree in English.
After a year of managing an ice cream shop that prided itself on using the highest FDA-allowable percentage butterfat (seventeen, if you're interested) and about as long taking her French skills from 0 to x (0 < x <
competent) at the Sorbonne in Paris, she began working full time as an SAT prep tutor. Desirous of interacting with more numbers than she
naturally crossed paths with later while pursuing an MFA in Creative Nonfiction, Ashley bolstered her tutoring repertoire, supplementing the
SAT with the GRE and GMAT, a collection of tests which accommodatingly scrambles into the anagram RAGTAG STEM.
Now an enthusiastic denizen of Cambridge, MA -- which you'd be ill-advised to suggest to her is anything short of the Greatest Place North of the Mason-Dixon Line -- Ashley has been a part of the Veritas Prep team since 2010, and though you are still unlikely to find her shod, she is super-careful to wear matching socks on the days she teaches.
