I’m a rising second year student at the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business. Prior to enrolling, I worked as a journalist for five years at a major magazine in Washington, DC. While there, I was selected to serve on an internal consulting project analyzing the magazine’s production process. The project was a success, and others like it soon followed. I found myself so enjoying those experiences that I left journalism to pursue an MBA.
Darden immediately stood out from other programs for its case method teaching style, team-oriented atmosphere, and high-quality teaching staff. When I’m not studying cases, I enjoy cooking, hiking with my dog, and listening to live music.
In the video below, Mariel explains why it’s important to look beyond location and cost when choosing the right program for you.
