Mac users rejoice! New GMATPrep software coming in April
Great news for Mac users (like me): you will finally be able to use GMATPrep from your computer, starting early April 2012!
As many of you already know, GMATPrep is a GMAT practice test software available for free from GMAC (the makers of the GMAT). GMATPrep is considered the most accurate indicator of your GMAT performance, and this software is much beloved within the Beat The GMAT community.
It’s been a few years since the last update to the GMATPrep software, but with this release I’m thrilled to see all the great changes, particularly the Mac compatability! Below are some screenshots of the upcoming release that were sent to us by our friends at GMAC.
It looks pretty slick!

Haha, well what I used to do was load a VM Ware Fusion package on my Mac and run Windows from there. Worked pretty well.

Will the questions for VERBAL and QUANT change from the previous version?
Eric Bahn on March 28th, 2012 at 12:29 pm
The substance of Verbal and Quant are not changing. But there is a new Integrated Reasoning section that is launching.

The new version of GMAT prep for Windows OS is also coming up ?

Yes, this new GMATPrep should be compatible for Windows, like the previous versions.

My GMAT date is May 9th. Should I take the GMATprep tests on this new version instead of the exisitng version?
Eric Bahn on March 29th, 2012 at 9:58 am
Use the older version of GMATPrep. The newer version features Integrated Reasoning, which will not be tested in May.
Good luck!

But if i have exhuasted the GMatprep question and need new test, can i use the new gmatprep? I mean IR section just replaces AWA section. wright? so the other parts will remain same. we can use them to test level on quant and verbal.

If you are absolutely out of material, then the new GMATPrep will provide decent practice for you too.

Hi Mastak, I got a response from GMAC--you should be able to download the new version in the next 24 hours.

Can you provide a link to where I can download the software (for mac)? I found it on the mba.com website, however, it does not seem to work.
Thank you in advance for any help!

The mac software you're downloading off of MBA.com is not working? You may want to alert GMAC (the makers of the GMAT test). They have an active Q&A forum here: http://www.beatthegmat.com/ask-the-test-maker-f71.html
