I came across an article recently on Sara Blakely, founder and CEO of Spanx.
I’m sure all you ladies out there know this product, but for the guys, let me fill you in: It’s basically a modern-day girdle that sucks you in so that you look good wearing clothes. I typically refer to my Spanx as my “fat-sucker-in-er,” if that helps. This product is paradoxical in nature, in that it makes you look great in your clothes, but when you see yourself in Spanx without clothes on you kind of want to poke your eyes out.
Anywho…
Ms. Blakely did what all entrepreneurs should be striving to do: she identified a problem, created a product that solves that problem, and then got rich. So rich, in fact, that her company is now worth a billion dollars.
