Hey Stacy,
This is my profile. I need your help. Do I have a shot?

Undergrad Degree: American University of Beirut (Lebanon), Electrical Engineering GPA 3.15
Grad Degree: Masters Boston University, Computer Engineering GPA: 3.75

Summer Internship in Lebanon, software engineering.

Currently working at investment company sell side (around 1000 employees) based in Boston. Software engineer for financial services.
By end of year will have 1 and a half years of experience there.

Targeting 2011 class.

GMAT: 720 (95% overall), verbal (89%), quant(84%)

Leadership: Have to work on in, need some advice here

Schools targeting: HBS, UCLA, MIT, NYU, Columbia

Citizenship: USA (don't know if this helps or makes it harder)

Are any of those schools in my reach? I know there is so much more to the application to work on, and leadership skill set to work on,but let's assume I work on those with the help of a consultant, like you, will this get me chance to be in.
Thanks in advance.

Dear boston.nabil,

I think your target schools are possibilities, but I always encourage prospective applicants to apply to 1-2 safety schools as well. All of your target schools are highly selective, so there are no guarantees no matter how well you put your overall application together. I do think being a US citizen is a positive for you.

Good luck,
Lisa

Thanks Lisa for your input.
You gave the 30% chance of rain for an answer. I really appreciate your honesty and I know I am overstretching maybe, but it is not easy to give up a respectable salary/job for a full time MBA unless the program is worse it. Lisa still the most difficult part for me to address is the leadership skills. I mean grades, my graduate will kind of offset my undergraduate ones. My GMAT is in the school range. The only part I can work on is leadership and get involved in community. Do you offer consulting services related to that aspect. I still have a long time maybe a short time, but not less than 15 month for my application deadline if I am not mistaken.
Thanks again,
Nabil
