Consultants -
I am a marketing/management undergrad and struggled to get a job in advertising out of college. I am still very interested in the field and was hoping to better my education and experiance in B-school in hopes to break into the industry.
The only program I have found is UTexas that offers the dual degree program. Although Texas would be the ideal choice, I know that I have to apply to more then one school. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Claire |

Dear Claire,
I would suggest researching where the advertising firms you aspire to work for recruit MBAs (or if they prefer some other graduate program). Then you will have an idea of the best programs to target. You can also look for schools with strong marketing research electives and are in the right geography (i.e., major cities with a concentration of advertising firms). The joint program at UT-Austin sounds interesting, but I would try to determine if you really need to do the joint program or if one of those degrees would suffice.
Best of luck,
