Manhattan v/s Kaplan Questions

by tihor » Sat Aug 15, 2009 5:06 pm
Hi - I purchased the Kaplan question bank, and find a vast difference between the questions I face with Manhattan tests/q banks versus the Kaplan q bank.

The Manhattan questions are much tougher overall.

Can you please opine about which one is closer to the actual GMAT test?

I am aiming for a 700+ score.

Thank you very much.

Hi Tihor,

The GMAT is adaptive. That means that the difficulty of the questions will depend on your performance!

Note, however, that Kaplan doesn't view practicing nothing but difficult questions to be an optimum strategy. After all, even if you're aiming for a 700+, the first 10 or 12 questions will be of moderate difficulty; you need to not only answer those more straightforward questions, but also do so quickly and efficiently to maximize your time for the tougher Q's later on.
