Low GPA with entrepreneurial background Post Sat Mar 31, 2012 7:33 am
Hi,
I’m in my juniour year in Turkey, civil engineering. Here are my stats:
My GPA is really low. 2.6. However, I started my own company 3 years ago and we’re giving counselling to students and consulting to universities. We have a revenue of more than $1 million per mounth. I have two great recommendations from presidents and deans from the universities which we work with.
I probably get a 700+ in GMAT. And, I will apply to Harvard 2+2, Yale Silver Scholars Programm, Booth and Stanford (Joint degree with School of Education)
What are my chances? Thanks in advance!

Hard to say. Harvard really does like really smart people, and a 2.6 is a bit low for them. But if you can make an argument that "I was working on my business at the same time, etc. etc." and show them you are very academically capable by doing very well on the GMAT you will have a shot. A million dollars a month! Wow! That should help you impress them too.
Smile
