Low GMAT score - 640 (47Q 31V) Post Mon Jul 18, 2011 8:11 am
Hi,

I am new to this forum and I joined today only after my dismal performance on GMAT (640). I scored between 690 and 720 in the 4 mocks by 800score.com and 700 and 670 on GMAT Prac tests.

I am disheartened but plan to take GMAT again by the end of September so that I have enough time to apply for 2012 sessions. I intend to get admissions one of the top 20 US schools, Rotman/Schulich in Canada, and ISB in India.

By the time I start my course next year, I will have 7 years of work ex with 2+ years of management consulting experience with a global firm.

That's about my score, my plan and my history. I am looking for answers for the following questions:

a) What tests should I take now as am done with most of my prac tests. If you remember the questions then it isn't like giving the real test.
b) Are two months enough to ramp up to 720+ (considering long hours of work during weekdays)
c) Will I be late on the submission cycles or reducing my chances for 2012 admit(of B schools)if I take the test by end sept with two months of preparation

Thanks a lot!!

I might recommend a prep course, and make sure you get the GMAC practice tests if you haven't already. as for time, yes you should have enough time, but don't lose sight of your application, which is just as important as your GMAT. make sure you make at least round 2 deadlines, and keep focused on telling your story in a compelling way, with passion and vision. Let us know if we can help.
