Topic: Kaplan CATs running out of Ques :)
PostFri Aug 08, 2008 4:54 am

I have kaplan CD with 4 GMAT CATs. I have used 2 out of the 4 CATs. Today i was going to use the third CAT. As soon as i started the a msg popped up(see the attachment).

Now i guess i will see few/many repeat questions. They dont even have sufficient questions in thr CD. Mad

Its not worth practicing a CAT when you already know answers to some of the questions. Because the time you will save on these repeat questions will add to the time you to solve the remaining questions. The whole purpose of giving CAT fails.

Now what to do?

any suggestions Smile

PS: where can i get mgmat cats on the net?
Thanx

Whoa, I've never seen that pop up message before. Smile

I'm moving this post to the 'Ask Kaplan' forum because you shouldn't be running out of questions with just 2/4 practice tests!

Dear missionmba,

I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Your satisfaction with our products is very important to us!

The problem you experienced is a very rare software issue with the CD. As you know, the difficulty of the questions given in a CAT is based on your performance on the previous question. The way that the CAT software on the CD works is that it grabs items from a pool, which contains questions of various difficulty levels. What happened is that you simply went through all the questions of a particular difficulty in the question pool. The software didn't have any questions left in that difficultly level for the third and fourth tests, and therefore, would not be able to provide you with valid/accurate test scores.

As compensation for the troubles you've had with the CD, I'd like to provide you with special access to additional GMAT CATs online. If you are interested, please let me know via a personal message (pm). I'd be happy to reply directly to you with that information.

I apologize again for any inconvenience you may have experienced, and wish you the best of luck on your exam!

Sincerely,

Monica P. Lugo
